I took a long vacation a few weeks ago and I did great on it. I ate pretty well. Felt great the entire trip once I got all of the pollution out of my lungs when I left my state. š
But when I came back I was really struggling with low energy, weird low blood sugar issues, and just felt pretty blah.
Thatās when I decided to try a little bit more plant-based meals just so I could flush my system. It worked pretty well, however I only lost 1 pound in a week.
I guess I canāt complain because after two weeks on the road I came back home weighing the exact same amount. Thatās a huge win. Especially for me when I seem to gain weight just by smelling something sweet.
Struggling With Vitamin And Mineral Balance
But Iāve been struggling lately with my vitamin and mineral balance. Iāve been upping my vitamin intake and adding pea-based protein shakes with vitamins and minerals included. I even added a iron pill that Iāve been taking twice a week. That really seem to help a lot especially when I read all of my other vitamin supplements and none of them contain iron. Grrrr
I donāt know if this is a menopause thing or what. Iām really at a loss as to what type of diet I need to be following. I donāt know if I should be eating plant-based with a little meat protein or protein and veggies only with light carbs- my regular low-carb fare.
I still havenāt made it to the doctor for my blood test so I really need to do that. Maybe find a dietitian or something. Right now I feel great but every day is a little bit different.
