A Cowboy Under the Mistletoe by Jessica Clare: Review

A Cowboy Under the Mistletoe by Jessica Clare

It’s been a while since I’ve read a cowboy romance and when I spotted this book for review it sounded like a perfect combination of the things that I love. Hot cowboys being the main one.

A beautiful winter holiday themed story that I absolutely fell for. I just love this book. Here are my thoughts.

A Cowboy Under the Mistletoe by Jessica Clare

SYNOPSIS:
Former Navy master-at-arms Jason Clements is down on his luck and calling in one last favor. His cousin has secured him a job opportunity as a cowboy working at Price Ranch in Wyoming. Too bad Jason has never even saddled a horse. If he can keep this job without his PTSD getting in the way, it’ll be a Christmas miracle.

Local busybody Sage Cooper loves Painted Barrel something fierce, but it’s time for her to move on. Since her father passed away, the family ranch feels too big for just her, and there’s no chance of finding a husband in this small town. To the rest of the world, she’s just another local fixture, known for her closet full of ugly Christmas sweaters and being perpetually single.

It isn’t until Jason shows up in desperate need of a cowboy crash course that Sage discovers a tall, dark, and handsome reason to stick around. And with the holidays coming up, Sage is in need of a date for a special event—maybe they’ll turn out to be each other’s best Christmas present.

A Cowboy Under the Mistletoe by Jessica Clare Review

When you read a lot of books like I do it takes something special to really capture my attention. This book had something special and I’m not sure I can really put my finger on but I’ll try.

I think one of the main things that drew my attention is the way the author created her characters. They both were vulnerable but yet have pride in themselves.

I think that’s what’s missing in many stories where someone is held down or pushed down. The characters are written with that negative energy in themselves. While Jason had some, Sage’s amazing support and friendship just turned him around in a minute.

What’s best of all is the amazing friendship that they built first. From that love just came naturally. He was so gentle and kind and loving to her and she was the same to him.

I absolutely love that the author took the time to write this book with amazing positive energy, steamy love, sweet surprise, and much needed grace throughout the entire story. Beautiful five-star read that envelops what a shining, warm romance story should be.
