Progress On My No Meat Eating Plan

Progress On My No Meat Eating Plan

Two weeks ago I decided to start eating more plant-based whole foods and remove meat from my diet to see what my body would do and how it would react.

I’m always looking for that magic switch to lose weight and find a plan I can live with on a regular basis. We can all do anything for the short term but I’m looking for something forever.

I thought I would update you with some of my results for the last two weeks. Not as great as I was expecting but I’m seeing some interesting changes.

Over the past two weeks I have only lost about 2 1/2 pounds. However, every single day I am down 2 ounces, 4 ounces. Some weight is lost every day. That to me is very encouraging. Even when I have eaten very late in the evening and I was afraid that I would gain weight, I still showed a loss of some sort.

Another change that I’m seeing over the past few days is a reduction in the swelling of my ankles and calves. That to me is a huge plus since mine are just huge.

I’m also seeing with less swelling in my stomach area, definitely no bloat. I have had no lightheaded or dizzy spells, which by the way I determined was due to lack of protein.

Every day I am drinking fresh green juice, at least 12 ounces or more. While I’m not doing fresh juicing right now, I am drinking Odwalla Superfood or Naked Kale Blaster. I keep 2 bottles in the fridge at all times.

I am also drinking the Arbonne protein shake every day. I shared that with you a few weeks ago and I really enjoy it because it it tastes good and it’s pea based and not whey based.

What I have removed is basically all meat. I did have a few slices of ham on a sandwich the other day, but only used the Ezekiel type bread. I got Dave’s Killer Bread, loaded with grains and seeds, it’s actually very good.

I am allowing myself eggs and some cheese for now. I do need the high protein and I want to make sure I’m eating enough greens to provide all my protein before I cut out anything else.

I have also cut out almost all fast food. I did go to Taco Bell but the only thing I ate there was a bean burrito so I could get the fiber.

That’s another thing that I am making sure to add into my day is to eat beans at least once a day to get that fiber our body needs.

I’m seeing a good results on all of these tweaks with my no meat eating plan. I have decent energy. I’m taking my vitamins faithfully. I’m consistently losing weight, while not fast, I appreciate that it’s not bouncing up and down.

My body is definitely cleansing itself because I find myself running to the bathroom a lot. But that’s a good problem to have.

I’m going to continue with this and see if I can incorporate more salads and greens than I have been. But I am happy that I am adding some complex carbs and I think my body likes it too.

That’s it for now I will keep you apprised. I hope you have had some success on your way as well.
