There’s so much that goes into holiday preparation. A lot of the time it falls on us women to make sure that we’re ready for whatever may come. That not only includes decorating the home and purchasing the gifts, but it also means preparing the food.
When it comes to health and wellness, the holidays can be a big problem. It’s up to us to take care with our planning so that we can enjoy the holidays without killing our diet and food choices. Even exercising can give us issue if we are not on our normal schedule.
Over the years I’ve come to find that taking away the excuses is helpful for me in order to make it through the holidays without gaining weight or without losing traction.
Holiday Prep for Healthy Choices
One of the things that I use is resistance bands. If I’m going to be traveling, these are in my backpack so I can do a work out anywhere. Having something with me reminds me to do my workouts!
Another thing that I do is try to plan my meals by including some of the healthier choices that allow me to stay as low carb as possible. I do low-carb appetizers and make sure there’s plenty of fresh veggies to go with my meals.
And always extra water to help flush away any of the things that I could not resist. I know it will happen but I can control the amount!
Is it perfect? Nothings perfect! But I at least have my mind and focus in the right direction and don’t just make the holidays a free-for-all.
What works for you? How do you stay on track during the busy holiday season?
