If there’s anything we learned about the Covid nightmare, it’s that some things are truly dirty and filled with germs that can easily cross-contaminate our bodies.

I’ve been wiping down things like shopping carts, desks, keyboards, etc., for years because when multiple people use them, you never know what they had on their hands or if they’ve been sick.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten sick from touching grocery carts. Just thinking of it makes me gag. Now I religiously wipe it down before use, if they have the wipes. But when I get back in my car, using hand sanitizer is the first thing I do.

I’m a professor at a college, and I teach in the classroom. I’ve made it a habit that every single time I change locations, such as leaving work and getting into my car, to use hand sanitizer.

Just doing that simple act has reduced the number of times that I’ve been sick. Now, of course, there are airborne things that you just can’t control. But I’m getting really good at it.

I always keep hand sanitizer in my car. Every single time I get back in the car from shopping I use it. If I go from one store to another store, I use it. You just never know what you’re touching. Flying? You would not catch me without hand sanitizer!

What I have found is that not all hand sanitizers are the same, of course. But some are definitely better than others. I hate the ones that are sticky and water-based. What’s that even about?
