Difficulties Cooking for Two When You Eat Different Foods

I’ve been going through so many changes this year it’s really starting to sneak up on me. Over the summer I went on a long road trip and I realize that I simply had to change my eating habits.

When I got home from my trip I decided that I was just going to try eating whole foods with little to no meat. Focusing on high fiber wholesome foods is relatively easy.

I really don’t miss the meat. On the rare occasions I do eat some, it really upsets my stomach and backs me up. Interesting how the body will adapt to different foods.

Problem is that my husband does not eat in the same way. He has always been a meat and potatoes guy. Plus, he has taken over a lot of the cooking because I work a lot.

What that means is he continues to cook the same way even though I’ve continually told him I can’t eat certain things.

It makes for a difficult time cooking for two people when neither one of us eats the same thing. But I do the best I can with the circumstances because I do appreciate that he is cooking.

I need to find better recipes that can satisfy both of our eating preferences and at the same time reducing the amount of work and money it takes to cook two different meals.

We’re very simple people. I’m happy with eating the same types of foods over and over. In fact, that is what I normally do. It’s my husband who likes the variety and rarely eats leftovers.

Any recommendations that you have for solving the difficulties cooking for two people who eat different diets would be amazing. I know we cannot be the only people who have this issue.
