Temptation and Better Food Choices

Holidays can be tough when you’re trying to eat properly – whatever properly happens to mean to you.

For me eating properly means eating within a calorie deficit and not completely trashing all of the work that I have been doing on my diet changes.

The other day I saw this meme. I’m not sure who made it or who to give credit to so for that I apologize. But it struck me as important because it’s definitely a smart way to think about the temptations we run into every single day.

I look back on many other successes that I’ve had and it really upsets me that I was doing so well and it slipped away so easily.

But I think by changing my mindset into this type of thinking could actually be quite helpful. We don’t have to deprive ourselves and be perfect every single time we eat. But what we do have to do is make smart choices every single time we eat.

So by taking that process from a “can’t” have something into a “I don’t want” something we could really make a definite positive impact on our temptation level and also our deprivation level.

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, tomorrow is a new day and we can do better. We can make better choices and choose to not want to eat some thing rather than tell ourselves we can’t have it.

I hope this helps you. I hope this helps me. Here’s to better choices every day!
