If you are on any kind of eating plan one of the first things you learned is that preparation is one of the key pieces to success.

If you are on a plan where you meal prep such as the Eat Like a Bear plan I’m on or any type of keto/juicing/low-carb plan, you know meal prepping can be a drag.

Especially when you have to cook food ahead, or clean and prepare your produce for use throughout the week.

Even cooking chicken or your proteins, which could take up to an hour once or twice a week, can put you off plan if you don’t get a chance to cook or prep. So I thought I would try out something different.

Last year we got an air fryer and I’ve never really used it much except for appetizers or fun experiments. But the other day I decided to try it for the chicken I needed to prep for my salads. I was curious to see how it would come out since I traditionally like my chicken on the grill or oven-baked.

So here are my results.

This is made with 8 boneless skinless thighs and I seasoned them the way I normally do. These were put in the air fryer and on the bake mode for 22 minutes.

I went with the 22 min because a few of the pieces still were slightly frozen. The temperature was at 380 and I will definitely be dropping that to 350 degrees. If you have less chicken, 20 minutes should be fine. Also if you have bone-in chicken, 23 minutes at 375 is good.

Because this is going to be meal prep chicken, which means it’s going to be shredded for my salads, I think it came out pretty decently.

I’m definitely recommending the 350 degrees as mine was a tad overdone. But it will definitely do for a quick way to get my chicken prepped without having to turn on the oven heat up the house or fire up the grill.

Overall, I still think I prefer the oven or the grill method best, but when I’m in a time crunch this is definitely a great way to go.

22 minutes and you’re done? That’s pretty cool! Oh, and a fast clean up!!!!!!!!

Adjusted Recipe:

8 Boneless Skinless Thighs
Season Salt
Granulated Garlic
Pepper
Poultry Seasoning

Place in the Airfryer at 350 degrees. Check at 20 Minutes. May need a few more depending on the thickness of the meat.
