Powerful Health Benefits of Juicing

I made a big change in my lifestyle back in March. I decided that my health was going to be number one so I started a juicing regimen that included mainly vegetable juice with some fruit thrown in here and there for taste. That choice kicked started me on a healthier path that has brought so many changes in my life.

Today, I am down 60 pounds and feel so much better overall. I added exercise and weights along the way and while I have so much more to go, I am excited at the changes and inspiration I am bringing to others too. One thing is for sure, there are plenty of powerful health benefits to juicing. Here are some of the benefits I have found.

* I never lack for a great snack – This is my fridge! No Excuses as my veggies are cleaned and ready to go
* Loss of Cravings – No more sugar cravings but that is not to say I don’t enjoy a sweet bite or two here and there.
* Increase in Nutrients – Since I did not eat near enough greens to begin with, adding them to my juicing routine means I am getting so many more vitamins and minerals that I was missing before.
* Reduction in Hunger – I eat higher protein meals along with my juicing and I have seen a big reduction in the amount of food I consume.
* More Energy – I have found more energy without the high carbs polluting my system. Juicing helps me clean out the carbs and continue to resist them today.
* Better Sleep – Because I am not eating as much food, especially in the evenings, I am sleeping better and require less sleep too.
* Clearer Mind – It goes to say that better nutrition will help clear your mind. It has for me.

Green Juice Recipe

Interested in trying one of my recipes? I use a NutriBullet for extracting the juice from the veggies. Here is a typical recipe I use. Give it a try!

Ingredients:

Handful of Baby Kale
Handful of Spinach
1 Stalk Celery
4 Baby Carrots
1/2 Cucumber
1/2 fresh Orange or Apple
1/4 cup Apple or Orange Juice
Filtered Water to blend

Directions:

In a large Nutribullet cup or similar juicer, Load in your ingredients and blend until completely smooth.

The apple works great for adding the fiber you need. Apples, oranges and pineapple are great for cutting the bitter green taste. You can switch up your ingredients to add more color and veggies. Try adding in some Almonds or Flax seeds too.
