I gave up on the word diet. After struggling with my weight loss for over 30 years I realize that dieting doesn’t work. You hear people say it. But you continue to try different things and methods, just in case something works. I’m over it, however. I finally found the plan and lifestyle that works for me.
After watching my stomach swell after eating specific items, I thought I was heading for celiac disease, which my mother suffered from for 20 years before they knew what it was. So that was one of the reasons I started eliminating certain carbs from my life.
I started juicing. I knew I needed nutrients. Then I started finding specific items that I could eat and still lose weight and feel good. These are my pantry staples in a low-carb living plan
Pantry Staples for a Low Carb Diet
Almonds
Walnuts
Cottage Cheese
Cheese sticks such as Mozzarella, Cheddar, Pepper Jack
Salami
Sliced Deli Meats like Roast Beef, Turkey, Ham
Eggs
Hamburger Patties
Chicken
Steak
Organic Protein Bars like Mauer
Celery
Flavored Cream Cheese
Salad Greens
Bolthouse Farms Yogurt Based Dressings
With these staples, I have the makings for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. I find that when I keep my recipes and eating plan simple I have the best success. It makes me not have to think about what I can eat and not eat. I know what works for me.
Add in my juicing vegetables, where I get the carbs that I can have, and I find the plan that works best for me.
Everyone is different. What works for me may not work for you. What causes me to lose weight may cause you to gain weight. The secret is in eliminating the foods you know are in issue and adding in the foods you enjoy that allow you to lose the weight you need. Plus, I know I cannot eat after 6 pm.
Craft your own eating plan that is clean, fresh, and healthy and you will feel much better as well.
