I think everyone knows that any kind of holiday or special occasion makes it especially tough to stick to eating plans. With Thanksgiving here and all of those delicious foods we love to enjoy, it’s definitely going to be a challenge to be smart and selective.
So I was thinking about my eating plan of veggie and protein-based keto and my one-hour eating window and how I was going to stick to that program. I thought I would share it with you for a little accountability.
My Plan for a Healthy Thanksgiving Meal
So here’s my plan:
- Fast Wednesday 1:00 pm through Thursday until dinner at 6 PM
- Cook a side dish just for me with a mixture of broccoli, cauliflower, and cheese
- Enjoy the main course and my side dish with the family
- Forgo dessert but maybe add a cup of coffee with hot cocoa as my treat
- Skip any kind of breads and potatoes which I will be making for the rest of the family
- Friday right back to my normal eating schedule and plan – eating at 12 with a 23/1 fasting window
Weight loss update:
I’m currently at 21 pounds down and it’s been hovering there for several weeks. I have been up and down in my weight so I’m hoping to just continue to focus on eating on plan and continue to see the scale go down.
I spent the weekend with my family and I did have few items that I don’t normally eat but I immediately got back on plan on Monday and I think that has helped a lot.
Best of luck to you with your eating plans this holiday. More updates to come.
