Micellar Water Makeup Remover Hydrates Midlife Skin

Micellar Water and tips for use

I have never been one to try out all of the newest beauty trends that come continually. I have favorites that I stick to for the most part, but as my skin changes with menopause, I do find myself needing and wanting different products.

I’m fighting different battles with my skin, and one of the things I’m trying to do is become more intentional with what I put on my face. I want products that help target specific issues and yet are simple and clean. Hydration is a huge need for me.

I admit I have been horrible at cleansing my face every night by removing old makeup, etc. But I have been getting better since finding two of the coolest products, which have probably been around for a while, but I am just now checking them out.

One of the products is Micellar Water. Who knew this simple purified water blend would also be so effective for cleansing your face? I’m blown away.

What is Micellar Water?

Micellar water is a gentle, no-rinse cleanser made of purified water, moisturizers, and tiny surfactant molecules (micelles) that act like a magnet to lift away makeup, dirt, and oil

Micellar Water is super easy to use for cleansing off old makeup. I hate bending over the sink and trying to wash my face or cleanse my face. I always end up with sopping wet arms and sleeves, etc. I’ve used wipes in the past, and I have mixed emotions about those as well.

This product is a game-changer for me. I love the simplicity of it. Simply add to a cotton pad and wipe!

I love the fact that you don’t have to rinse. Plus, it takes off eye makeup without pulling and tugging when it feels like you’re going to lose half your eyelashes. The Mary Kay brand removes impurities while breaking down old makeup, and leaves your face feeling hydrated and soft.

Second Surprise Find

Another one of my surprise finds, and again living in the dark ages here, is exfoliating cotton pads. What!? It’s the greatest invention and makes it so simple to use the micellar water and clean your face.

These cotton pads are awesome. Little bit of a bumpy texture on one side, and the other side is just a puffed cotton pad. Oh my gosh, that makes it perfect for a variety of uses, but definitely for makeup removal. I don’t always use the exfoliating side because I do exfoliate several times a week already, but it just feels nice sometimes to use it and get that makeup and grit off your face.

Cleansing Nightly for the Win

Combining these two has made it so much easier for me to cleanse my face nightly. It’s also refreshing if you’ve been outside working in the yard and you just want to wipe down your face.

Gentle, super easy to use, hydrating, and a game changer for this midlife wife.
