I was introduced to the author with her first book, The Trouble with Anna. I had some love-hate feelings with that one book, so I was very interested to see how book number two would be delivered.
The story ended up being delightful and included a bit of steam for us as well. Check out my thoughts below.

OVERVIEW:
Lady Charlotte Louisa Aveton knows all of London’s rules, and better yet, knows how to break them. But when she takes it too far and stumbles into a serious scandal, she knows only one thing will save her—marriage, as soon as possible.
With only one summer to pick a husband, Charlotte invites all of England’s most eligible bachelors to an extravagant summer retreat at a country manor house. There’s a brooding artist, a wickedly handsome Russian prince, and one of the richest men in all of Europe…so why do her eyes keep sliding over to the Duke of Warrick, the only man who’s ever come close to breaking her heart?
Does Charlotte’s summer of suitors have any room for second chances?
Just for the Season by Rachel Griffiths Review
I have to say I do enjoy when authors give historical romance female characters strength, choice, and sass, which is so different from what the readers experienced even 10 years ago.
But with that aspect, you also have to be able to break that image from what you experienced in the past and embrace the new.
This author has written a steamy romp that includes a second-chance romance. These two characters caught feelings before, but due to circumstances, nothing ever came of it.
Now, with an urgent need to access money, marriage is required for Charlotte, but no one is good enough for her or Wolfgang.
Griffiths has once again created a fun and wacky story, which includes a summer in the country along with plenty of suitors. But no one seems to measure up.
With plenty of additional characters to bring in the wit, including that sneaky grandma, we experience humor and plenty of situations that are a delight to read.
Both characters are unique and blend beautifully. Both are also hardheaded, which brings some unique qualities, not to mention the fact that they need to learn to communicate.
Overall, Just for the Season is the type of historical romance we love to read. Strong, smart women who know what they want paired with strong, caring, sexy men who can handle their personalities.
