Is Age a Factor in Energy Levels? - A Midlife Wife

I don’t know what’s happening in your life obviously but the last few weeks in my world has just been kind of crazy. I have been working a lot and then doing extra work planning and putting on an event I do each year for my nonprofit has really zapped my energy levels. I seem to just fall into bed and pass out most days. I could seriously use a vacation!

I’m not an early morning riser, for the most part. Well, I do wake up early, but it does take me a little bit to really get into the groove. So having to be at work by 8 AM on top of having a lot going on right now is also adding to my energy issues.

I’m usually pretty good for the most part but there are some days that it’s everything I have to get moving. I try to drink a lot of water; some days are better than most. I drink my greens and I’ve been taking a lot more vitamins than I normally do.

All of these seem to be working pretty good, for the most part, but I’m curious if there’s something that you do to help keep your energy up for most of the day. As you know when we get home part two of our day just begins so there’s no relaxing until maybe an hour before bedtime, if I’m lucky. I am sure you can relate.

Is Age a Factor in Energy Levels?

I’m not sure if it’s an age thing where the older you get the lower your energy levels. I know there are some day I could just go right back to bed!

Maybe it’s a food thing – when you eat a more nutritious diet, you get more energy.

Maybe it’s a workout thing where adding exercise and physical activity to get the blood moving helps with the energy throughout the day.

I know it is definitely a sleep thing – the more the better for me, but that is not always a sure thing, depending on the day.

Maybe it’s a combination of all of these things.

I know a few years ago I didn’t have this lack of energy so I’m trying to duplicate what I did back then without the luck obviously.

So what’s your take? What keeps you buzzing through the day and through the evening?

Do you think age is a factor in lowered energy levels? This midlife wife wants to know your take.
