We all know that walking is an excellent exercise for people of all ages. When we were younger, it was a no brainer to just get out and play, be active and enjoy. Now that age is creeping up, getting in the exercise that we need can be a bit more difficult. Scheduling it in seems to be the norm and many excuses can come into play too. But with the great outdoors calling our name, throwing on a pair of walking shoes and getting outside shouldn’t be so tough.
Walking has so many benefits for our health. Not only is it good for our circulation and heart, but also our muscles, strength, and even our skin. It truly is a wonderful exercise that we should be doing daily!
Need more motivation to get out a walk? Check out how walking can improve your skin and make you feel great all over!
How Walking Helps Improve Your Skin
* Walking will increase the blood flow in your body which helps your skin to repair itself from any damage.
* Natural sunlight is wonderful for your skin. We can all use some Vitamin D and even with a natural suncreen, your skin can get a healthy boost from the sunlight.
* Reduce under-eye puffiness and dark circles with the increased blood flow to your face through walking and other types of physical exercise
* Walking will increase your body’s natural endorphin’s which works to speed up healing, improve your mood, and decrease pain. It is also great for clearing your mind and helping you to focus better.
* Increased water intake is a great benefit from walking as water is critical for our skin’s health and overall appearance.
* Walking is wonderful for toning your skin and developing muscle tone all over your body giving you a healthy body that will work hard for you
Has it been a while since you walked? Start slow and do what you can. Then every day do a tiny bit more. Your body can and will recover! Can’t get outside? Try a treadmill or one of the great walking dvd’s that are available to inspire you! Enjoy the improved health and skin tone with your walks.
