Here are some tricks for doing that:

Coconut Oil makes a great replacement for butter

Choose unrefined coconut oil. You can use it to make scrambled eggs, spread some on your toast or whole-grain waffle in the morning, or sauté veggies in it. Coconut oil hardens in the fridge and turns to liquid sitting on your counter top on a hot summer day. Either way is okay for your cooking and eating enjoyment.

Add Olive Oil to your diet

Choose extra virgin olive oil for your salads. Combine with vinegar and herbs to make a dressing for grilled meats and cooked veggies. Dip a small bite of whole-grain bread into olive oil with a sprinkle of Himalayan salt and cracked pepper. If you cook with olive oil, you can use regular and not extra virgin.

Enjoy Nuts and Seeds… but go lightly

It doesn’t take a big portion of nuts and seeds to deliver good fat as fuel for your healthy body. Think about how you can add a few nuts to each meal or snack. Chinese and Thai food incorporate toasted sesame seeds, peanuts, and coconut milk into their recipes to bring healthy balance, texture and flavor. You can add a handful to your own stir-fries, sprinkle nuts over your salad, yogurt, or fruit cup, add to granola or nibble on a few nuts with half an apple. Or my favorite healthy cereal/protein snack!

Get into Avocado

From a fresh guacamole with a sprinkle of onions, lime, and cilantro, to sliced avocado over your salad, to a side of avocado with your burger patty in place of mayo, you’ve got lots of healthy options for this silky, creamy, versatile food. Avocado toast is trending right now, why not give it a try in place of butter?

By using these 4 ingredients in your daily meals, you will make important changes that will impact your overall health.
