Have you ever looked back and figured out what started the downfall of your weight and nutrition struggles? I have and I can honestly say that it started with fast food.

Before I moved to California, right out of high school, I was healthy, extremely active. Yes a little bit chunky, but maybe only about 15 pounds overweight.

Then a friend introduced me to Taco Bell. And that started my addiction to Mexican food and fast food. I was still very active and for a long time kept the weight off. But it slowly started creeping up, especially when I didn’t live with my parents anymore.

Today, a ton of years later, I’m working on reversing the damage by improving my nutrition, making better choices, but it still a struggle.

It was sent a book to review called Delicious Medicine – The Healing Power of Food. It is wonderful look into foods and what it can do for our health.

Delicious Medicine: The Healing Power of Food by Tina Martini Review

The first thing that struck me was how gorgeous this book is. The images just pop out and the layout is unique and easy to read.

The author shared some amazing information about what our foods are made up of and how they can heal and interact in our bodies. We always hear reasons why we should be eating wholesome raw foods, but this book makes a powerful impact on why it is best for our health. So many of our foods contain awesome healing properties. We all should be eating this way!

Not only is this book loaded with info on the foods we should be eating, but Martini also gives us some fabulous recipes to try! Some of them are going on my “must make” list right away.

The best part for me is that these recipes are made with real food; things you can easily pick up at the farmers market or store and not have to search for funky ingredients. Fresh ingredients, in tasty combinations, that begs you to dive in.

I loved the layout and all of the informative qualities in this book. It is something we should all read and digest. It will definitely help anyone transitioning from prepared foods to healthy eating in an easy manner, plus be healing your body on top of it.

Beautifully informative and delicious recipes too! What’s not to love?
