I have a confession to make. I love chips. I mean, it’s such a satisfying comfort food. You get the crunch and the salt but often times with that satisfying taste comes unwanted oils, and sometimes, unwanted ingredients.
I don’t eat a lot of chips because I’m pretty much eating 95% / 5% keto and clean so my consumption of one of my favorite food items has dropped drastically. But on a day that I allow myself to eat some of the things that I love, chips are in there.
I have to tell you about a healthier organic chip choice though. Often we grab what we grew up with, but there are so many options out there now that give us organic ingredients that our body loves more than commercial ingredients.
GMOs, in my opinion, are a significant factor in what’s killing my body. Years of random snacking, and eating boxed items or any item without checking the ingredients have just done a number on me. And trust me, it’s hard to come back from that. Every day is a struggle to try to let my body release the weight.
So choosing a cheat item but yet still having it have some of the healthier ingredients is a wise choice. For me, the inflammation won’t be so bad after a cheat day using things like Humble Chips.
A Healthier Organic Chip Choice: Go Humble
This brand comes out of Canada, but you can find it in the USA at Whole Foods. I was sent a selection of their products and I have to say they’re pretty darn good.
They had me at Creamy Dill. I’m a German girl. I love dill, and dill-flavored chips are the bomb!
These chips are light and crispy not hard like some kettle-cooked chips. I know those can tend to be really tough on your teeth but the Humble Chips, while they’re solid, they don’t have that overly crunchy texture that can hurt your teeth.
I love the fact that these are made using certified organic potatoes. The chips are made with the skins on and cooked in light Sunflower oil, then finished with just a small amount of flavorings.
I love that the flavor is not overwhelming and that you don’t get a mouthful of questionable ingredients that have you wondering, what’s in this? ( I remember many a headache from some chip flavors!)
Another great thing is that their bags are plastic-free and actually compostable so they will decompose in 90 to 180 days. How awesome is that?
Humble Chips offer five different flavors: Original, Sea Salt and Cider Vinegar, Smokey Barbecue, Creamy Dill, and Honey Mustard. I didn’t get a chance to try that one… Seems interesting.
Overall, I think this is a great choice so you can feel good about feeding those chips to your kids, yourself, and your family, and not have to beat yourself up about putting artificial or questionable ingredients into your body.
Light and tasty with all of the organic flavorings and tastes you didn’t know you were looking for.
Humble Chips- great choice. Love the flavor – light and tasty! They are humble, just like their name…
