It has been a long time since I posted a Farmer’s Market Find. I used to go to the market quite often and would share my finds on a monthly (or more) basis. But then I fell off the wagon!
This weekend I was determined to fix that. Saturday was a delightful, gorgeous day so I got my butt up early and get my shopping done quickly. I headed over to the market in the next town. We are so lucky to have a year-round market. I am ashamed I have not been there in a long time!
Farmers Market Finds for November
I was happy to see some new vendors there and plenty of our normal vendors. This week I was able to snag some of the last of the season fresh grapes. OMG they are so sweet and delicious. I got the Flame Seedless grapes but he also had Thompson Seedless and a Merlot grape too. Amazing!
Also in season now is the root veggies. I shared a recipe I made last week with Rutabaga and Fingerling Potatoes. Perfect for the season. From the market, I grabbed a butternut squash in a small size just perfect for me! He grower had many different varities available, but this is m y favorite.
Also, I grabbed some fresh carrots and used them in a stew I made last night. And my favorite Easter radishes! Oh so good! She had some other radishes available, but they were pretty pricy so I passed on them.
Overall, some delicious flavors for the week for me. I am making myself a promise to visit more often, if only to support my local organic farmer.
Do you have local markets to you visit on a regular basis? What is your favorite veggie or fruit to get there?
