Have you ever gotten to a point where you just have to do some updates in your house? I’ve lived in my house close to 25 years and some things were still original. I am just so over the old and ready for the new!
I bought a new couch couple months ago from a friend who was moving away and it completely clashed with everything in my living room. It is a beautiful blue gray and everything I have is Camel, Cherrywood, and dark. So one of the first things that I had to do was get the interior my house painted.
It has been years, at least 10, if not more, since I have painted my living room and kitchen. I was so tired of the dark color I couldn’t wait to lighten everything up.
So I found this awesome neutral that would blend my darker furniture pieces and blinds with the lighter couch. And I just love the way it came out. Check out some of my before and after pictures below!
Updating Interior House Paint Using Agreeable Gray
It’s a great color called Agreeable Gray by Sherwin-Williams and I had the ceilings all done in pure white. This color is a beautiful blend of gray and beige (greige) and it offset everything perfectly. An amazing neutral color!!! I love how it changes colors in different lighting. Sometimes it looks gray. Sometimes it looks slightly green. Other times, it is beigey. Even the painters commented on the awesome color!
I also had the hallway painted and that one I chose a creamy off-white called Steamed Milk also from Sherwin-Williams. It too has a pure white ceiling. It’s a nice blend and it breaks up the living room and hallway colors perfectly. I love it!!
It took three days for the painters to finish because everything needed two coats. I was going from a darker wall paint to a lighter wall paint. Plus, it hadn’t been painted in a while so the walls were very thirsty.
I still haven’t brought everything back together yet in my house but I am thrilled with the color! I love the way it came together.
Over the next few months I’m going to have more work done. New kitchen cabinets and countertops are next on my list. I also have to buy new curtains and I have many other projects that need to be done in the house.
I’m also taking this time to start cleaning out a bunch of items that I don’t need anymore. I’m so excited for this refresh. It really makes me happy to be in my living room now.
I can’t wait to share pictures once I get everything back up on the walls and back in my cabinets. Squeeeee! It has been a long time coming!
What do you think? More to come as I do some more remodeling and updates!
