The Princess by Lisa Renee Jones: Review of the Filthy Trilogy Book 2

The Princess by Lisa Renee Jones - book 2 in the Filthy Trilogy

I can honestly say I am extremely excited to share that the sequel to The Bastard has finally been released. When the last book ended on a cliffhanger, I have to say I was frustrated. I am not a fan of cliffhangers.

But knowing that it’s Lisa who is doing the writing, I knew the next book would be out shortly. Plus, I’m always thrilled to be on her review team for her great stories.

Check out part two in this new series and my thoughts below.

The Princess by Lisa Renee Jones - book 2 in the Filthy Trilogy

ABOUT:
The second book in the Filthy Trilogy – Eric and Harper’s story continues…

He’s the bastard of the empire, a savant, a genius, and a self-made success. He left it all behind, but he came back for her.

Their passion is a flame that ignites more than their bond. It ignites secrets, lies, and a puzzle that once solved, will shake them to the core. You know one deep, dark secret, but you do not yet know anywhere near everything.

The Princess by Lisa Renee Jones Review

I have to say that I have a few mixed feelings about this book. I love the plot and I love that we get to spend time with Eric, Grayson, and the Walker Brothers.

But there are things that bug me about the story.

One of the first things is the amount of conversation. The back-and-forth and rehashing the same points over and over again by Eric and Harper just got to me. It bogged down the story and it just got to be too much in some areas.

It seemed like the same points and the same arguments continued through most of the story. There were highlights of activity, moving the plot forward, but then they would be back to the same old stuff.

Plus, Harper bothered me a lot in this story. She kept secrets and was constantly bugging and interrupting Eric while getting in the middle of trying to deal with the family and solving the major problems.

I still love Eric in this sequel. Just like in The Bastard, everything he does he does for her. She is the only thing he thinks about. He is full of passion and just can’t live without her. He is all in and it shows.

She is not quite as focused as he is. She mainly thinks about her mother and then Eric secondary. But I know she does love him. But as a character, Eric definitely won my heart. He is all consuming, hot, and definitely sexy. The steam and passion between the two is hot and heavy and gives this story a big impact.

While we still don’t come to a conclusion with this book as the author decided it needed a third story, and since I’m so invested in this series, definitely looking for a big bang to happen in the conclusion.

Overall, The Princess is a solid story with some quirks, some great secondary characters, and several suspenseful twists that keep you on your toes. Another sexy, strong, memorable story from the Queen of romantic suspense and a trilogy that sucks you in.
