One of the best parts about opening a new book is when you read the first chapter or two and you know it is going to be awesome! This book was amazing from the start.

I love the flow and the energy. It was actually funny, not just witty, and the characters were fabulous. I know I am gushing just a bit, but you seriously need to put this one at the top of your list!

OVERVIEW:
Hallie Piper is turning over a new leaf. After belly-crawling out of a hotel room (hello, rock bottom), she decides it’s time to become a full-on adult. She gets a new apartment, a new haircut, and a new wardrobe, but when she logs onto the dating app that she has determined will find her new love, she sees none other than Jack, the guy whose room she snuck out of.

After agreeing they are absolutely not interested in each other, Jack and Hallie realize they’re each other’s perfect wing-person in their searches for The One. They text each other about their dates, often scheduling them at the same restaurant so that if things don’t go well, the two of them can get tacos afterward.

Spoiler: they get a lot of tacos together.

Discouraged by the lack of prospects, Jack and Hallie make a wager to see who can find true love first, but when they agree to be fake dates for a weekend wedding, all bets are off. As they pretend to be a couple, lines become blurred and they both struggle to remember why the other was a bad idea to begin with.

The Love Wager by Lynn Painter Review

What more can I say than what I said in my opening?

This book is just a fabulous read. I had so much fun, I truly did not want it to end!

Painter gives us amazing characters who are such a delight to get to know. They are not only fun but they are funny together. They have the perfect start to a best friend set up and you just cannot wait until the romance starts.

From the beginning pages of this story, I fell in love with this book! I can continue to gush, but the bottom line is that The Love Wager is not your typical trope story. It is delightful, lighthearted, swoony, and super steamy too!

Just do yourself a favor and read it! Painter is truly a rockstar when it comes to her storytelling abilities. She paints us pictures in such a way, you will have to read this one over and over again. I believe you will fall in love with Hal and Jack, just like I did! It made my heart happy!
