The Earl of London by Louise Bay - A Midlife Wife

ABOUT:
Love left me off its to-do list.

I date. I’m all forgiving guys a chance. I’ve just never met the one.

Until on a spring morning in the English countryside, a tall, dark stranger emerges from the mist. Logan Steele is all tousled hair, hard chest and lips so perfect I want to reach out and touch them just to check they’re real. I’m sure that’s a thunderclap of chemistry I feel between us.

Did I mention he’s an Earl with a self-made fortune?

A billionaire who works tirelessly for charity?

The Earl of London by Louise Bay Review

One thing I have come to realize with this book is that you definitely have to have chunks of time set aside in order to absorb her stories. I started reading this during a busy week and I think I cheated myself.

I love the intensity that Louise creates for her characters. The intense passion and connections are what sets her apart from other writers.

However, for some reason, I missed the intensity in this book. I love the characters that she created, but I didn’t feel that burning, yearning desire and heat that she normally brings to us.

The Earl was a powerhouse in town but in the countryside he elected to be buttery and soft. Darcy had the upper hand and he only strove to make her happy and to satisfy her needs. Not that it is bad, but it also took away from the dominant factor that could make this so much hotter.

While I absolutely loved the story, for me something was missing that takes it into another level – that five star reach. Louise Bay is still a favorite writer of mine. I just didn’t connect as well in the story like I normally do. I miss the gasps, the tears, and the deep intense passion.
