The other day I shared with you a post about meatless meals for low-carb living. Today I want to share something with you specifically about adding other forms of protein to your meals besides meat.
There’s so many different foods that you can eat that will provide you the necessary proteins that your body needs and craves. Protein is important for building so many things in your body. Hair and nails, bones, muscles, blood and even hormones built using protein. It is an important part of your overall health.
Everyone knows that animal protein is not always the best to eat in excess. But nature provides many more ways to get that important component for our bodies and from food sources that will help our body overall.
Check out some of these high protein foods you can use instead of meat:
Nuts
Beans
Cottage Cheese
Peanut Butter
Nut Butters
Quinoa
Chia
Tofu
Chickpeas
Edamome
Broccoli
Make sure to check serving amounts. Eating a high protein diet is not a free for all. You do need to balance your carbohydrates and fats too for a good combination to give your body great overall health.
I love eating high protein foods. It has really helped me control my eating habits and increased my self control over foods. How has it helped you??
