The sun was out today and I got up early enough to do my errands so I thought I’d take a swing by the organic farmers market we have in our town here in California. I haven’t posted lately about our market and the goodies that I get there because I haven’t gone in quiet a while.
I used to try to go at least once a month or even every couple of weeks, but I really haven’t had a chance for one reason or another. But I went today and it was nice to check out some of the vendors. They have new vendors there but the wind was up and it was freezing cold. I felt bad for them.
My Haul From the Farmers Market
So it’s kind of in a weird time of the season; not a lot of greens and veggies happening but we are still getting some citrus. So I was able to grab just one little bunch of these darling radishes, which if you follow me here for a long time you’ll recognize the fact that I get those quite often. I just love them.
I also grabbed some fresh lemons for a nice lemon cleanse and I grabbed a couple of oranges because there’s nothing better than fresh oranges and now is the perfect time to get those. I also picked up some fresh walnuts to add to my salads. Yum!
A couple of local bakeries were there so I got some fresh sourdough bread for my husband and his sandwiches and a small banana bread. They smell delicious but unfortunately not on my diet plan.
Another thing I found that I treated myself to was this darling Succulent planter! I love this saying as it was a catalyst for me several years ago, so it is now sitting at my desk! I am happy! And look at that sweet bloom!!
So now that it’s almost March a few of the other markets will be opening up in a couple of months. Like I said we’re fortunate to have ours open year-round and I do need to get back to supporting them more often.
So that’s it just a quick update on what we can find at the market right now. I hope you’re able to get to the farmers market’s on a regular basis where you live. Fresh veggies are so delicious!
