I have to admit, there are a few authors that I religiously scope out for reading and reviewing their books. I am addicted to the flow and amazing storytelling abilities that this author duo expresses in each new release.

My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren - review by A Midlife Wife

ABOUT
Millie Morris has always been one of the guys. A UC Santa Barbara professor, she’s a female-serial-killer expert who’s quick with a deflection joke and terrible at getting personal. And she, just like her four best guy friends and fellow professors, is perma-single.

So when a routine university function turns into a black tie gala, Mille and her circle make a pact that they’ll join an online dating service to find plus-ones for the event. There’s only one hitch: after making the pact, Millie and one of the guys, Reid Campbell, secretly spend the sexiest half-night of their lives together, but mutually decide the friendship would be better off strictly platonic.

But online dating isn’t for the faint of heart. While the guys are inundated with quality matches and potential dates, Millie’s first profile attempt garners nothing but dick pics and creepers. Enter “Catherine”—Millie’s fictional profile persona, in whose make-believe shoes she can be more vulnerable than she’s ever been in person. Soon “Catherine” and Reid strike up a digital pen-pal-ship…but Millie can’t resist temptation in real life, either. Soon, Millie will have to face her worst fear—intimacy—or risk losing her best friend, forever.

My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren

I absolutely love the humor of Christina Lauren. They have amazing way of creating characters that are fun and so real to life that you wish you were part of the group. This new release is a perfect example of how a friends to lovers book should be written.

The story is a lot of fun. Millie is the only girl in the group and the guys tend to treat her like a guy. Except for one. Sparks are flying soon; they just can’t help themselves.

Then the brilliant idea came about post on a dating app so each had a date to go to a banquet. Millie’s intro was a little plain. So she created a secondary profile and who should she be connected with but her man she is crushing on.

As the story wove in and out of the friends, secret relationships, and almost lies, the authors kept me heavily attached to the story with their inventive situations, sexy hook ups, and heartbreaking lessons to learn. My heart took a beating on this one.

I never tire of the amazing stories by Christina Lauren. They are completely unique in the industry; bringing us delightful contemporary romance that not only celebrate friendships and love, but they tend to teach us a lesson or two.

My Favorite Half-Night Stand is a little emotional and a lot addictive. The story is definitely one I think you will fall in love with. I know I did.
