I have a big confession to make. I don’t watch reality TV very often. In fact, I don’t even turn my TV on for months at a time.
So for me, it’s very odd to choose this type of book to read. I’m not sure what is was in the synopsis that called my name. However, it ended up being a super sweet romance, and a big plus – I really fell for Rhett.

SUMMARY:
Georgia Rose is not going on the hit reality dating show Love Shack to find love. She’s there to write a killer exposé on the producers, which will guarantee the journalism job of her dreams. But when Georgia’s unforgettable one-night stand from the year before, country singer Rhett Auburn, steps into the Malibu mansion as the season’s new host, all of her carefully crafted plans unravel.
Caught up in the drama of backstabbing contestants, producer blackmail, and death-defying dates, Georgia must keep her identity―and history with Rhett―a secret. Despite the lies between them, it isn’t long before Georgia and Rhett’s heated behind-the-scenes moments start to feel more genuine than the romance Georgia’s faking for the cameras. But with her assignment unfinished and the executive producer on her tail, a second chance with Rhett could be her riskiest move of all.
Most Eligible by Isabelle Engel Review
I have to say that I am definitely a reader who is impacted by the male lead character in a romance novel. To me he is the most important character because of how he treats his woman.
If I based my reviews of books on this aspect only, I’d have a lot of five-star books. But I do have to include other aspects when I finally give a rating.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and it was a fun story. Some parts were sweet and spicy. There are areas that really could tick you off. Just thinking that people are treated the way they’re treated to get a story or a particular shot for a movie fries me.
Backstabbing and underhanded manipulation are actions that I can’t stand so it’s hard to read that in a story. But yet it’s so much a part of reality TV to get the views and clicks.
The author did a really good job depicting the scenarios and laying out her plot. Scandal and tension build with each chapter. The characters were great, and I loved that she gave each person uniquely memorable aspects. And the bonding between the girls was wonderful as well. The author takes us to some interesting locations and puts people in their place.
But with all of that fluff, can we just talk about the reality here… Rhett. The dreamboat. Sweet, tender-hearted, and so in love. Broke my heart a little bit how long we had to wait for him to get what he really wanted.
Most Eligible is an entertaining behind-the-scenes look at the crazy reality-based love shows. I was cheering all the way for our two main characters wading through the drama, and capped it off with a great ending! Love, friendship, and even a few villainous characters make this one to watch for.
