Juicing for Health + Recipe

I have to admit I’ve been struggling for a while trying to find something, anything that’s going to help me continue losing weight.

Every time I try to eat in the evenings, like any other normal person, I gain weight. I had plateaued and maintained for several years at the same weight and this past holiday season, I put on 10 pounds which won’t come off. Then another 10 pounds in Jan and Feb appeared that refuses to budge.

So I decided to go back to my original kickstart that I did nine years ago, which was juicing.

Back then I juiced fresh veggies and fruits in a Nutribullet twice a day, including eating low-carb, high protein multiple times a day. I knew I was lacking basic nutrition and juicing for health got me back on track!

It worked then and I’m hoping it work again. I kicked it off this week and I have had green juice like the recipe below that gives me plenty of fiber. I just need to support it with high protein.

cup of veggies and fruit before juicing

So this is my base juicing recipe that I have been using for years.

It’s easy to add to it or remove – switch things out – whatever you want to do. But here’s what I had in my juices this week.

Spinach and Fruit Base Juicing Recipe

Ingredients:
1 small Apple
6 to 8 baby carrots
1 stock of celery
1/3 of a cucumber
1/3 cup of pineapple pieces
Big handful of spinach
1/3 cup of juice from the pineapple
Fill up the Nutribullet cup to the max line with water

Directions:
Layer the ingredients in a large Nutribullet cup. I find I can get more in if I cut the pieces down a bit. Add a bit of juice like pineapple or orange juice. Then full to the Max line with filtered water. Blend and enjoy!

This will make a full cup of juice. You can drink half 2x a day to complete the cup.

Within the first 4- 5 days I am down 4 pounds! Here’s hoping I can drop another 60 like I did last time. Let’s do it!
