Imperfect Match by Melanie Harlow & Corinne Michaels: Review

I have read and reviewed a number of Corinne Michaels books but I think this is my first Melanie Harlow book. Looking at her list of publications, that was a surprise to me. Both authors write in the contemporary romance genre and you know I read a lot of those stories!

Combining the two together has been a special treat. This new release was fun and so sweet. I just loved it. Here are my thoughts.

ABOUT:
Rule number one for a professional matchmaker?

Don’t fall in love with your client.

I screwed that up when I fell for my best friend, Reid Fortino. He’s gorgeous, successful, and sexy as hell. I figured it would be easy to find him a match—and save the family business at the same time.

But the more time I spend attempting to find the perfect girl, the more I realize how much I want him for my own. What’s the harm if we give in for just one night?

I should have known that would never be enough.

Now I’m on the verge of losing my job and my heart.

We were an imperfect match from the start, but I don’t know how to let him go.

Imperfect Match by Melanie Harlow & Corinne Michaels – Review

This book was a blast to read. A familiar friends to lovers trope, it features two friends that live across the hall from each other. He never wants to get married but loves women and she wants a baby now, as time is ticking.

The problem is neither recognize that they are the perfect match for each other – except everyone else.

Enter Mom who comes up with a way for them to realize they are looking for love and answers in all the wrong places.

The authors did a fabulous job creating the perfect characters that truly love each other. When the blinders come off and they decide to go all in, that is when issues arise.

I just love Reid! He is so sweet and lovable, but so afraid of commitment. She can only see a baby in her future and that becomes a huge issue in their tenuous relationship! Neither wants to budge and parts are painful to read.

The other characters work great to fill in the balance and Willow’s sister is just so wacky. She brings a bit of levity to the story and is a perfect balance to Reid’s impassive brother. I see a future here… Just sayin.

Imperfect Match is sweet, angsty, hella heated, heartbreaking in parts, and just a delight to read. I love the combination of authors. The balance of this story is right on the mark!
