If you hang around me enough, you’ll find out that one of my favorite ways to drink coffee is mocha coffee. I’ve been drinking that for 40 years at least! I used to make it when I managed convenience stores and they had amazing hot cocoa and I would make it half cocoa, half coffee. YUMMMM!
Today, I create my own and use it as a treat in a quick simple method of adding a packet of Swiss Miss Milk Chocolate, never any other brand as the ingredient list is much smaller, and then my coffee. Sometimes I may add a little tiny splash of heavy whipping cream if I want it creamier but usually, it’s just a mixture of cocoa and coffee.
What I’m trying to tell you is that I love mocha coffee! So why not enjoy one for summertime when it’s too damn hot to drink hot coffee all the time.
So here’s a quick and easy way to enjoy a mocha coffee, protein style!
Here’s how to do it.
Iced Mocha Coffee Protein Style Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup leftover coffee or grab a cup of coffee and let it cool off.
- 1 container of Premier Protein Chocolate. (To me, that’s one of the best ones, high-protein and good flavor, super low sugars.)
- Ice
Optional
If you do have some heavy whipping cream, you want to add in there you can do a splash or two of that as well.
Directions:
Combine it all together into a tall glass. I did not have one available. Sorry, so the only clear glass I have right now is my coffee mug. So I just refilled it a few times – lol. (Time to shop!)
If you have crushed ice that’s better but fill it up with ice and enjoy. It is really delicious and you get extra protein in as a bonus!
Good to Know –
If you are counting calories, you’ve just added 160 cal to your day, without the heavy whipping cream. So make sure to adjust your food intake for those additional calories.
It’s a tasty treat for a late afternoon pick me up or simply a different way to add protein to your day.
Premier Protein actually has a coffee-flavored protein drink that adds caffeine. That might be another option that you can check out as well. This is not a sponsored post in any way! I’m just sharing something that I enjoy with you.
Let me know if you try it and like it too!
