When the temps go down the first thing I start to think about is soups and stews. There is nothing like a hot, steamy bowl of a hearty soup to warm you from the inside out.
I love a good chili but I am the only one that seems to enjoy beans in my recipe in my household. So when I get in the mood, I usually end up making two batches, one with and one without beans. Then I tried making a soup out of my chili recipe and it has become a go-to for my lunches on any chilly day. Nice and hearty, loaded with fiber and protein. This recipe is fast to prepare and you may have the ingredients in your cupboard right now!
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 15 oz. can Chili Beans in Sauce
1 package of Lawrys Chili mix or use Chili powder to taste
1 15 oz can Tomato Sauce
2 Cans of Water
1/4 onion, minced
1 Beef Bullion Cube
Shredded Cheese
Directions:
In a deep sauce pan, brown the beef along with the onion. Drain fat and return to pan. Add in your tomato sauce, water, chili beans, and seasoning. Bring to a boil. Add your bullion cube. Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 15-20 minutes. Add in additional water if necessary or to taste.
Serves 4
Enjoy this with a salad and some french bread. Don’t like beans either?? Omit them but you may not need to add additional water.
