Now that I am eating healthier and juicing, a fun part of my weekend is getting up and heading to the local farmers market. Here is my Farmers Market Finds for November.
We’re lucky in that where I live we constantly have something in harvest. That means there’s always something new to find and try. I’m also very lucky that the farmers market near me is a certified organic market. So we get fresh from the farm produce, fruits, and nuts. There’s also eggs and some meats, as well. It’s not a very big market but it is consistent and year round.
This week I was able to score some cool new fruits and get a hold of some end of the season grapes. These are Thompson seedless and black seedless grapes. So full of flavor and sweet too.
Plums were another big item at the market today. Not only did I get regular plums but I also picked up some Pluots, which are a blend of plums and apricots and are quite good.
I also got to taste a brand-new variety called Pluerry. This is a cross between a plum and a cherry and oh, my goodness, it’s delicious.
I also picked up a couple of persimmons. This variety which I can’t remember the name, but I think it is Yulu, is perfect for eating right now. That should be good.
Plus there were plenty of farmers there with their greens and other veggies, but I had already grabbed mine before so I skipped those this week. I also grabbed some delicious pistachios to snack on too!
I love going to the market because there’s always something new. What did you find that’s exciting and fun?
