I really enjoy a good cup of coffee now and then, especially in the wintertime! I love a hot mocha on a cold dreary day but it is not the most keto-friendly beverage!
I have never been one to drink coffee daily for my caffeine fix, but I prefer it later in the day once in a while.
As a keto plan follower, I know how important it is to get in the proper fats, like MCT oil, and drinking Keto friendly coffee is a great way to do that.
I tried the original Bulletproof™ coffee recipe before and I could not handle drinking butter. Gag. Thankfully, there are other recipes out there that use heavy whipping cream as an option. It is low carb, so good, and that works for me!
Here is my favorite way to make this tasty coffee!
My Favorite Easy Keto Coffee Recipe
The great part is you can drink this hot or iced!
Ingredients:
1 cup of your favorite Coffee, brewed
2 TBLS Heavy Whipping Cream
1 TBLS MCT Oil or Coconut Oil
Vanilla Extract, if desired
Optional: 1-2 TSP Pure Maple Syrup – optional as this will throw you out of ketosis, but a good alternative to refined sugar or modified sugar alternatives – (I hate all of the fake sugars, monkfruits, etc,. LOL)
Directions:
* Pour coffee into your cup and add in the other ingredients and stir. Adjust to taste.
