Another favorite of mine from my Mom’s recipe box is the awesome Applesauce Bars. This recipe make moist and delicious bars that are quick and easy to prepare and will leave your family looking for more. I just love them!
Easy Applesauce Bars Recipe
Ingredients:
3/4 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Shortening
1 cup Applesauce
1 3/4 cup Flour
1 egg
1 Tsp Baking Soda
1/4 Tsp Nutmeg
1/2 Tsp Cloves
1/4 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Vanilla
Chopped nuts or raisins, if desired
Directions:
Cream together the sugar and shortening. In a separate bowl add all of the dry ingredients and combine.
Into your creamed sugar and shortening, add in applesauce, water, egg and vanilla and mix well.
Add in your dry ingredients slowly, mixing well.
Turn this out onto a greased 9 x 13 baking pan.
Bake at 375 for 25 minutes.
