Supplements. Yes or No?
I asked myself this question 6 years ago when I so overweight and miserable that I wasn’t sure I could ever make it back. I was one heart attack from death and my legs were showing signs of oncoming diabetes.
So I took a hard look at what I was eating and realized I was not getting good nutrition in any of my foods. Even if it was “good” food, our soil has been depleted over the years and I/we are just not getting the nutrients that our body needs.
So I started juicing. And the change was immediate.
Can Supplements Help Your Overall Health
Fast forward to now and I have changed my routine a bit. I am eating ridiculously big salads and healthy proteins almost daily. While I am not juicing like I used to – but probably should be, I am reliant on my favorite supplements and powders to support my immunity and health.
Here is a what I take on a daily basis to make sure I am getting everything I need for a healthy body, even in, and especially with, focus towards pandemic times.
Vitamins
Vitamin C – critical for heart and immunity health, plus a necessary vitamin for tackling colds or the flu. 4,000-6,000 units daily
Vitamin D3 – necessary for bones, muscles, skin diabetes, and enhancing immunity defenses
Zinc – strengthens cell functions and immunity defense system
Whole Food Multi Vitamin – loaded with minerals and vitamins, plus probiotics, CoQ10, and more! Love this stuff!
Collagen – I have used (affiliate link) Neocell Collagen for many years and love what it does for my hair, bones, muscles, and ligaments! Amazing stuff!
Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies – New one – not sure how this is working yet but good for cholesterol, blood sugar balance, digestion, and more.
Powders –
Country Farms Super Greens – has 50+ organic ingredients, including probiotics and prebiotic’s. It even has Aloe Vera which may be a benefit towards your lowering your cholesterol and your blood sugar.
Diet Works Celery Juice – New one for me – supports detoxing, cell health, and flushing your system. Other brands of (affiliate link) celery juice powder are out there. This one is hard to find sometimes.
Country Farms Immune Defense – I only use this if I feel I am coming down with a cold or my allergies are kicking in. Amazing ingredients that help kick up your immune system a notch or 5.
Personal Note – I have been around many with active Covid-19 and have used these supplements and powders daily to keep a healthy immune system. I have felt like something was coming on a few times this winter, but dosed with the Immune Defense and Vitamin C and kicked it to the curb. I have felt great and will continue on this protocol to make sure I stay that way!
