Young Adult stories are not usually a category I read. I have been sucked into book series before that make me crazy! However, the blurb on this one sounded too good to pass it by so into another long series I dive, I think!

Released on Wattpad, Kindle, and other formats, plus TikTok, this edition is a new and enhanced paperback with some bonus content. Check out my thoughts and review on Lo and Lily below.

Overview:
She’s addicted to sex. He’s addicted to booze…the only way out is rock bottom. Fall in love with Lily and Lo in this edgy new adult romance set in a world of lust, fame, swoon-worthy men, and friendships that run deeper than blood in this special edition with bonus materials—in print only!

No one would suspect shy Lily Calloway’s biggest secret. While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom. To get laid. Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups, and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own.

Loren Hale’s best friend is his bottle of bourbon. Lily comes at a close second. For three years, they’ve pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families. They’ve mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment.

But as they sink beneath the weight of their addictions, they cling harder to their destructive relationship and wonder if a life together, for real, is better than a lie. Strangers and family begin to infiltrate their guarded lives, and with new challenges, they realize they may not just be addicted to alcohol and sex. Their real vice may be each other.

Addicted to You by Krista Ritchie; Becca Ritchie Review

If there is anything I learn from reading young adult (YA) series it is that they seriously do make you anxious and a wee bit crazy.

This train wreck of a story definitely tugs on your heartstrings and these two roomies and best friends weave through their addictions like pros, caring for each other, hiding, and somewhat managing their descent into hell.

But I have to give it to the authors. They can certainly weave a story that allows you to become addicted to the characters and the story too.

I felt the truly deep love between Lo and Lily and the issues growing that they could not and did not know how to address. They love each other but the destruction of the addictions takes precedent.

This can be an exhausting story. You are reading a book about the worst version of people. You feel the self-loathing. You are watching their destruction and it is a lot, to be honest.

You are in the front row as desperation sets in. But you experience the love between them! You are all in at the ending which makes you sad but hopeful.

Am I going to read more of this series? Honestly, I am not sure. It is exhausting and addicting to read these types of books. But with that said, the authors sure know how to suck you into it! Expect a Cliffhanger!
