Holiday season is here and with that comes loads of opportunities to have family and friends over, enjoying all those wonderful foods. It is also a time to be cognizant of the food safety surrounding what we are serving and to what we are eating well, especially if we are at other peoples homes.
It can be difficult to know everything we need to know about food safety. My best friend works in quality assurance so I hear all the time about how to properly store and defrost foods. But there’s so much more to it than that.
Thankfully, just in time for the holiday season, there’s a brand-new book called The Food Safety Book: What You Don’t Know Could Kill You. This book is loaded with information that is critical for good health and safe eating.

A Must Have in The Kitchen: The Food Safety Book Review
I love this book. There’s so much information! You can find great tips and tricks, including things like sanitizing and disinfecting. The authors bring you homemade solutions and recipes that are easy to whip up. They go into cleanliness in the kitchen and tips like how to thaw food safely and marinade safely.
I loved the chapter about purchasing your food. The authors tell you about classification of USDA grades in the foods and veggies, plus so much more! The layout of this book is easy to use and refer to in a flash.
This book is a must have for anyone on your list. Wedding gifts, college students, new cooks, single adults, and the list goes on. Even people that have been cooking for many, many years need this book because just because you know how to cook, doesn’t mean you know how to care for the food properly. I have seen many scary things in peoples homes…
This truly is a must-have book for anyone in the kitchen. Loaded with amazing information that you didn’t know. I learned so much from this book and so did my husband. Definitely on my gift-giving list this holiday season.
Available at Amazon and B&N and other book retailers.
