There is so many parts of my state that I have yet to explore and so I have decided to try and do that more often.
This week is Spring Break for us and I took a quick trip to visit a gorgeous lake near Yosemite. Located about 15 miles from the Highway 49 entrance to the park, outside of the town of Oakhurst, CA. is a delightful, small lake community of Bass Lake. Nestled in the trees and surrounded by tiny roads, this is a lake town dedicated to small town living, vacationers, boating, and just relaxing.
I live about 1.5 hours from here and have never been able to just explore and enjoy the day. So that is what I did.
The great part about going in early Spring and midweek is there is hardly any visitors and the traffic was null. I was able to explore the lake and spend sometime relaxing beachside in one of the vista points. It was so peaceful and I really needed that!
Because it is in the mountains and early spring, it was chilly and the clouds came rolling in as I was sitting there. The lake is quite low but it was perfect for me. There are several places for hiking and just enjoying the area. I could so live there!
Here are some pictures to check out and maybe next time you are near Yosemite, you can visit too.
