The older I get, the more I realize how much sugar really affects my body.
Many years ago I swore off soda because I was addicted to Diet Coke. I saw the effects of sugar and artificial sweeteners in a demonstration through work. It really shocked me how the chemicals were affecting our body. So I went cold turkey.
It lasted several for about 4 years. Every once in a while I would drink a soda but mainly it was ice tea or water. Today, I’m still pretty good about not drinking my calories, but there are some times that I seriously do have a sweet tooth.
I’ve tried many different sweeteners like Stevia and things like that. They’re OK. They just don’t have the right flavor for me, so I just don’t choose to eat or drink the foods that would need it. LOL That’s my way of getting around not having it.
And sometimes you really do need to use a sweetener in something, so it is good to know how to reduce the sugar calories and carbs from sugars in our dishes.
I did see an article that was sent to me about a different blend of plant-based sweetener. They included this kick butt recipe for coleslaw which I happen to love. So I thought I would share the recipe with you and the information about the sweetener and you can tell me if it’s any good or let me know if you have tried it.
Right now I could really use a cuppa coffee, but because I’m trying to stay away from sugar, I don’t get to have it. So let me know your thoughts.

Can you send me more recipes from your Ballerina friend. Love the soup recipe and I need more of the same type. I mean ones that aid in weight loss but are healthy. Thanks for any help you can provide,
HI Liz. Thanks for the request. I’ll see what I can find
