I think it’s safe to say that I have become a big fan of Christina Lauren. I have read many many books by this writing duo and it’s always an honor and a thrill to be able to review their newest releases.
Soon to be released is a story that will leave your heart full. Here are my thoughts on Josh + Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating.

ABOUT:
Most men can’t handle Hazel. But her best friend Josh isn’t most men.
Hazel Camille Bradford knows she’s a lot to take—and frankly, most men aren’t up to the challenge. If her army of pets and thrill for the absurd don’t send them running, her lack of filter means she’ll say exactly the wrong thing in a delicate moment. Their loss. She’s a good soul in search of honest fun.
Josh Im has known Hazel since college, where her zany playfulness proved completely incompatible with his mellow restraint. From the first night they met—when she gracelessly threw up on his shoes—to when she sent him an unintelligible email while in a post-surgical haze, Josh has always thought of Hazel more as a spectacle than a peer. But now, ten years later, after a cheating girlfriend has turned his life upside down, going out with Hazel is a breath of fresh air.
Not that Josh and Hazel date. At least, not each other. Because setting each other up on progressively terrible double blind dates means there’s nothing between them…right?
Josh + Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren Review
One of the things that captures a readers interest is something that this writing team does very well. They give you a true to life snapshot into their characters life.
What do I mean by true to life? They have the ability to write in such a manner as you can feel the uncomfortableness, the shy weirdness that people sometimes exhibit. The quirks and running off at the mouth that just tends to happen when you’re nervous.
All of this describes Hazel. With her fumbling, bumbling personality, it’s hard not to see yourself in her, just a little bit.
Then we have Josh. A solid upright low-key person who balances all of Hazel’s uniqueness. Together we get a humorous story of “friends” who set each other up on dates because they’re just not right for each other. Until they are….
Christina Lauren’s foray into this story is delightful read. They have the unique ability to create live out loud characters in Josh and Hazel that just endear themselves right to your soul.
Josh + Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating is a funny, quirky, sexy book that you just have to experience. This is one story you will definitely fall in love with.
