When I was growing up, we never did do stockings as part of our Christmas celebrations. Never had a fireplace and for many years, we actually lived in the Far East, so no winter either. I never thought about stockings during my Christmas celebrations as I became an adult, other than to maybe hang a few for decoration. Then I got married and had a child of my own and my husband and I started our own traditions. After a few Christmases, we added filling stockings to the mix. Now I wonder why I never did it before!
Digging through the Christmas stockings might be the best part of the Christmas gift exchange. It is fun to sneak in a small gift or two without anyone knowing. It is also fun to add in some favorites that I get every year. Like for my husband, he loves the LifeSavers storybooks. Remember getting those as a child? I sure do. So when I can find them, they always appear in his stocking.
This year I said I wasn’t going to do stocking any more. After all my son is now 20 and no little kids are home. but guess what??? I am doing stockings HA! Here are a few that are on my must have list this holiday – Everybody loves these in their stocking!
5 Stocking Stuffers Everybody Loves
- Backup Batteries for Cellphones
- USB Cords
- Headphones
- Tech Gloves
- Cell Phone Cases
– I love these cool plug in battery chargers. They are small cylinder shaped devices that are about the size of a AA battery and you plug your phone right in for charging when you are on the go.
– I hate forgetting my charging cord at home and running my phone out. By having extra’s in the car or in your bag, you are never without.
– Earphones are a must in my house, especially for my kid. He goes through them like crazy, so I find good ones on clearance and stock up so he can listen to his music and I don’t have to!!
– I love these cool gloves that have some weird material on the fingertips so you can use your smartphone even when wearing your gloves. Perfect for the techies, like in my household.
– You can never have too many phone cases, especially when you get bored with the one you have. I look for inexpensive ones to add to the stockings that are reflective of the person getting it.
I also make sure to find fun treats that each person loves. Maybe personal items like lip balms, perfumes, colognes for the guys, and other small items. Stuffing the stocking is fun and inexpensive too! Plus everyone can participate!
Do you enjoying unloading stockings more or unwrapping the bigger gifts? Good things do come in small packages too!
