So you got a long weekend ahead of you and you decided you want to take a quick vacation. Where do you go for last minute deals? One good answer is your social media channels. If you enjoy using social media, then you will be able to find a multitude of deals available to you online.
Here are some good ones to try out.
Use Social Media for Last Minute Travel Deals
* Twitter has lots of travel resources. There is a list at Lifewire that is composed of some of the best Twitter travel feeds for you to subscribe to.
Some will alert you to changes in airfare so you know the best times to book. Others help you find the best travel deals available for your intended destination. Just do an online search to find the Twitter feeds for your situation.
* Facebook is another great online travel resource. Do a search on Facebook for travel groups and join ones that give you discounts on hotels and airfare. Sometimes simply liking a hotel chain will earn you an additional discount. Others are a little more complicated, like offering coupons hidden on side columns of the page.
Just about every travel agency has a page on Facebook, so do a little investigating to see if they have coupons or special vacation packages available before you book.
* Always check Foursquare before booking your trip. This system is a mobile phone app. You use the Foursquare app to say where you are going, what you’ll be doing, and what you’re planning. When you make these announcements on this app, you are given discounts for places nearby in the form of coupons. You can use these when booking your trip to save money or when you are actually on your trip at your destination to find interesting new things to do nearby.
of course there are plenty of apps you can use too, but that is a different post!
