I can’t tell you how many books I’ve read by this author over the past 10 or so years since I discovered her. I actually remember the very first book I read by her because I was so captivated by it.
It was one of the first books I’ve read as a reviewer for a publisher. I was addicted and hooked! 10+ years later, I’m still excited when I get to read or review a publication by her. Continue on for my full review and thoughts on this new release.

OVERVIEW:
The food critic…
Miranda Storme once gave her body and soul to Gavin Luciano, but he took her love and walked away without a word. Now he’s back. He may look even sexier than he did three years ago. His kisses may still burn in her memory. And his arrogance hasn’t changed since he states his intentions to reclaim her. In his bed. Still, as an established food critic who ends up in his restaurant, there’s only one thing on her mind. Revenge…
The restaurateur…
Gavin Luciano walked away from the family business and his lover years ago. He thought power and money would make him happy. Now he realizes his mistake and comes home to right his wrongs. He has three months to make his family’s struggling Italian restaurant successful, and a bad review is Gavin’s worst nightmare. But this isn’t just about the meal. He’s finally realized what he left behind and is determined to spend the next eight weeks proving himself to Miranda in the kitchen…and in the bedroom. This is one dish she won’t be able to refuse.
But when he learns about Miranda’s secret, will a second chance at love be too late?
Unbreak My Heart by Jennifer Probst Review
I have to say that I have missed several books over the years from Propst. The last book I read was definitely in the chick-lit category. This release is definitely a different type of story and falls more into the contemporary romance department.
I also have to say I had a few love-hate moments with this particular story. I think this is one of the first books that I have read by her where I did not connect well with the characters at first.
The male lead was arrogant, cocky, and pushy, although with good intentions. But it took me quite a while to warm up to him.
The female lead changed her mind every time I turned the page. She was hot, then cold, and really didn’t treat him well through most of the book. Plus, she was harboring a secret that I thought was unfair.
Lack of communication was a huge problem between them and it continued through most of the story.
Even with all of that going on Probst delivers an awesome story including secondary family characters that are a little wild and wacky and bring levity to the story for a great balance. Propst did go the extra mile with their romantic connections and does not forget to include loads of sexy times and steamy apologies. That’s the good part about second-chance romance!
Overall, Unbreak My Heart is a heartwarming story about two stubborn people finally figuring out what they need in life. The second half is definitely worth getting through all the craziness of the first half.
I am so glad this author is back on my radar again. I have missed her endearing romances!
