The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood: Review

cover for The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood

Sometimes we make rash judgments by the look of the cover of a book or by the synopsis. This story was offered to me for review several times and didn’t jive with me at the time, so I passed on it, multiple times.

The other day it was offered to me again, and I took a chance. Let me tell you, I should’ve read it months ago. An exciting, fun, and quirky story, you have to check out my thoughts below.

OVERVIEW:
If she wasn’t dead already, Delphie would be dying of embarrassment. Not only did she just die by choking on a microwaveable burger, but now she’s standing in her ‘shine like a star’ nightie in front of the hottest man she’s ever seen. And he’s smiling at her.

As they start to chat, everything else becomes background noise. That is until someone comes running out of a door, yelling something about a huge mistake, and sends the dreamy stranger back down to earth. And here Delphie was thinking her luck might be different in the afterlife.

When Delphie is offered a deal in which she can return to earth and reconnect with the mysterious man, she jumps at the opportunity to find her possible soulmate and a fresh start. But in a city of millions, Delphie is going to have to listen to her heart, learn to ask for help, and perhaps even see the magic in the life she’s leaving behind…

The Love of My Afterlife by Kirsty Greenwood Review

There are certain topics that I tend to shy away from such as death and dying, ghosts and witches. but when I end up reading them, they are so much different than what I thought it was going to be like.

This story is fun and quirky with so many great parts to it that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I was actually sad when it ended.

The author created this plot in the story with a twist you don’t even think about happening. We get shades of loneliness, wanting, and joy while balancing it with delightful scenes and rom-com vibes.

The characters have a rich sense of humor with an unbelievable plot. The ending was so awesome with intertwining connections you don’t even see happening. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and wanted more. A fun and surprisingly delightful story. You never know what to expect and that’s what makes this so different and unexpected.

If you’re looking for an uplifting, humorous, situational story, this one is for you. This is the first time I’ve read this author and I’m looking forward to more from her.

5 STARS!!
