Once in a while I take a trip into the mind of a urban fantasy author and I always come out a bit more wise for the wear. Last year, I was introduced to Francesca Haig and her second book, Map of Bones. A very interesting and engaging story that continues with her newest release, The Forever Ship, which was released this month.
Normally I post my thoughts and reviews on books, but I have not had a chance to finish this particular one yet. I still wanted to share the publication announcement for those that are following The Fire Sermon series and appreciate an imaginative and intriguing read.
The Forever Ship by Francesca Haig
Series: The Fire Sermon (Book 3)
Publisher: Gallery Books (December 5, 2017)
ISBN-13: 978-1476767208
Book Three in the critically acclaimed The Fire Sermon trilogy—The Hunger Games meets Cormac McCarthy’s The Road in this richly imagined post-apocalyptic series by award-winning poet Francesca Haig.
“Haig’s prose is gorgeous and engaging, particularly when she describes the desolate landscape, now peppered with ruins from the Before. Fans of dystopias will appreciate this adventure-filled yet character-focused tale that offers hope and explores (in a refreshingly nuanced way) the moral complexities involved in defeating an oppressive and backward government structure” (Booklist, starred review).
