I’ve read several books by Jackie Ashnden and have enjoyed them all. So when this new release was available for review I jumped on it.
This book had all of the checkmarks I look for in a interesting read; military, money, and hot romance. Sign me up! Here are my thoughts on this new release.
THE DANGEROUS BILLIONAIRE by Jackie Ashenden
Series: The Tate Brothers (Book 1)
Publisher: St. Martin’s Paperbacks (May 2, 2017)
ISBN-13: 978-1250122797
Navy SEAL Sullivan “Van” Tate has been called home to reluctantly inherit an empire and finds himself facing the most difficult mission of all: love.
Nothing about Sullivan “Van” Tate is what it seems. A Navy SEAL raised among the New York City elite, Van prefers heart-pounding action over a Wall Street corner office. But when his adoptive father dies and his business rivals move in to overtake his empire, Van must suit up to save the company and protect the one woman most forbidden to him…and the object of Van’s most dangerous desires.
Chloe Tate is as ambitious as she is gorgeous. With a newfound independence, Chloe is no longer a prisoner on her father’s ranch. But everything changes when losing her father may also mean losing her life. Even with her survival on the line, Chloe can’t deny the burning attraction she feels the moment she locks eyes with Van, her rich, rough and ready, foster brother and the new head of her father’s company. Tall, dark, and muscled, he’s the one man who she has no business being with. But how can she resist a Navy Seal Warrior when he’ll do anything to protect her?
Review of THE DANGEROUS BILLIONAIRE by Jackie Ashenden
Sullivan a.k.a. Van is a super hot alpha male who is thrown into a family situation he is not thrilled about being in. Taking over his foster father’s company was not something he had on his radar. Plus the fact no one else seems to receive anything in the will leaves Van in an uncomfortable situation.
Throw in Chloe, his foster sister, who lands on his doorstep and you now have a steamy love interest who is in danger too.
There are many parts of the book that I enjoyed but there are some that I just had to shake my head and move past. The author put a lot on the foster sibling relationship issue, but since they’re adults and not related in any manner this seemed not much of an issue, to me anyway. Plus Chloe did some not too smart maneuvering on her own placing herself and others in danger.
The other two foster brothers are really not involved too much in the story but they are set up for additional books in the series. With the character development as such, they should be a good read.
Overall I enjoy Jackie’s writing. Her development of the characters is usually pretty good and the steam factor is pretty high, especially in this story.
The Dangerous Billionaire offers great flow with some hot and sexy moments to make this a captivating and interesting read. Plus Van is delicious!! This series is one to keep an eye on.
