Sometimes a book really hits you in the feels. You find yourself reading with tears rolling down. You cannot stop reading and when you do, you just have to sigh.
These types of books are few and far between. But when they happen, they are memorable. I am so pleased to be able to read and review this new writing duo publishing their first book this summer. Check out my thoughts below.

OVERVIEW:
When twelve-year-olds Kat Steiner and Blake O’Neill meet at Camp Chickawah, they have an instant connection. But everything falls apart when they learn they’re not just best friends—they’re also half sisters. Confused and betrayed, the girls break off all contact.
Fifteen years later, when their father dies suddenly, Kat and Blake discover he’s left them a joint inheritance: the family beach house in Destin, Florida. The two sisters are immediately at odds. Blake, who has recently been demoted from regular nanny to dog nanny, wants to sell the house, while social media influencer Kat is desperate to hold on to the place where she lived so many happy memories.
Kat and Blake reluctantly join forces to renovate the dilapidated house, with the understanding that Kat will try to buy Blake out at the end of the summer. The women clash as Blake’s renovation plans conflict with Kat’s creative vision; meanwhile, each sister finds herself drawn into a summer romance. As the weeks pass, the two women realize the most difficult project they face this summer will be coming to grips with their shared past—and learning how to become sisters.
The Beach Trap by Ali Brady Review
When I read that this book is written by two people, it kind of blew me away. Just the whole logistical thing gets me. Plus, the fact only one of them has published a book before. When you read this book, you will totally get what I mean.
When I first started this story I didn’t expect anything out of the ordinary. A typical women’s fiction book, right? Not for me. Somewhere along the line this book really started getting into my heart.
The whole half sister twist took on another dimension that gets right into your soul. The hurt and pain you can feel right along with them. The distrust of old pains and the fresh new hurts makes it hard to see through to the other side along with a solution.
The authors took all of that emotion and bundled it into a story that is fresh with delicate raw, tender feelings as the half sisters try to heal and move forward. The budding romances help the healing process while adding some levity and clarity to it all. Plus the guys are great characters too.
The Beach Trap is a beautiful beachy read that sings of family, love, and acceptance through broken, yet healing hearts. And love really does win in the end. I cannot wait to read more from these two!
