I have been missing for a few weeks, just posting off and on. Sorry, but I have been road tripping with my sister and enjoying the countryside!
It has been a few years since I was able to just relax and go so I convinced my sister to take a road trip and she agreed! Just us two! YAY!
Sister Trip With Some Cross Country Fun
First stop was Santa Fe where I was able to visit with a friend for a day and a half. It was a delight and so nice to see her. I had not been to Santa Fe in quite a while and it has changed so much!
Then, I headed north to Colorado Springs and hung out for a few days with my sister and her family. The views are spectacular and sadly I neglected to get any pics of Pikes Peak! My goodness, it is massive! Over 14,000 ft! I need to ask her to send me some to share with you.
Then we headed to Minnesota to visit with family. That is always a treat and this visit was extraordinary for us. We traveled to our lake home and visited with relatives. A relaxing and lovely time!
Here are a few pictures of my Minnesota stops

We continued east to Wisconsin for a few days, visited friends, and traveled the state. It is so gorgeous there. I had only driven briefly through it before, but this time, we took the back roads through the countryside. So lovely! I had no idea that the west side was covered in hills.
What I loved was seeing the Amish farms and looking for all of the Quilt art on the barns! Check this one out.

Finally, it was time to head home. We traveled back to Colorado Springs and I headed out via the northern route, just to get in some additional states! I had forgotten how beautiful Wyoming is, desolate in some areas, but amazing too! Outrunning storms, and checked out the awesome rock formations as I drove.

By the time I got home, I went through 13 states! I just love road trips. Some people were amazed I drove so much of it alone, but I love driving and it was totally worth it.
Next trip for just the sisters is in the works. I cannot wait!
