I’ve been struggling with my weight for many years, especially as an adult. It has taken me to mid life to figure out what works for me when it comes to getting fit and losing weight. In all these years of trying, I have realized a few things – some secrets of success, if you will.
Below are some of my work out secrets for fitness success at every stage, especially for those who are over 40 but they are true for anyone of any age. Not difficult to do but you do have to be accountable to yourself to succeed. With these tips, you can start today!
Secrets for Fitness Success
- Be consistent
- Find an effective routine
- Have realistic goals
- Find a workout partner
- Be patient
- Be good to yourself
- Embrace the changes
- Be happy and love yourself in every stage
– You have to set up specific days and times that you are going to work out and stick to it in order to get in the routine. It is easy to say you will do it tomorrow and soon you are out of your routine. Calendar it!
– Fit what you love to do and start with that. If you love to walk, then start there and add in other things as you becomes stronger.
– It is easier to stick to a routine if you set attainable goals. Make a plan and modify it as you go.
– Or someone to be accountable to. You need a coach to cheer you one, even it it si your hubby or mom.
– Change takes time, especially over 40. The scale may not change but your measurements do! Measure yourself weekly or at least monthly! Don’t give up!
– No one is perfect and if you fall off the wagon, start again immediately without beating yourself up!
– Take pictures often so you can visually see changes and inspire yourself. Celebrate each victory!
– You are doing great and it is hard to lose weight and get in shape after so many years of bad habits. You are awesome!
