Synopsis:
A sweeping, classic romance about the ties that bind us together-and the promises that can break us apart …
Some friends are more like family…and that’s exactly how Cara Martin feels about Ryan Langston. He stood by her side through the most difficult time of her life and there’s nothing she won’t do for him, even now after his death. But inheriting Ryan’s share of his family’s ranch in west Texas and living there for a year? Cara doesn’t understand what he was thinking. Still, she cannot, will not deny Ryan’s last request…even if it means sharing a roof with his brooding, arrogant older brother.
Jeth Langston doesn’t trust Cara as far as he can throw her. Jeth is certain she prevented his baby brother from spending his last days at home. And he’ll be damned if he lets this stranger take over the Langston family legacy too. Whatever the cost, he’s determined to drive this beautiful outsider away-no matter how intriguing he finds her.
But as the days grow longer and sunshine sweeps across the plains, Cara can’t help but fall for the untamed land-and the man whose passion for it captures her, heart and soul. Can their love bloom wild and free on this Texas ranch?
My Thought About Ryan’s Hand by Leila Meacham
When you dive into contemporary women’s novel you kind of expect certain things. Especially if you are a voracious reader like myself, you find that stories tend to follow a specific pattern. However, the author broke the pattern in this emotional read. Definitely one to read with the tissues right next to you but one that you certainly do not want to miss.
The author wraps you up and pulls those heartstrings pretty hard and I found myself with tears rolling down my face at random parts during this book.
Written with loads of emotion, she offers in-depth character development and highly descriptive scenery that sweeps you into the depths of the country. You feel like you are right there with them as you get involved personally with the characters. Then she brings you those highs and lows emotionally that make the difference between a so-so read and a wonderful read.
I’ve never read a book by this author before but if this is the style of writing to be expected from her, oh my gosh, I am completely in. A clean read perfect for any age, this romance is one not to be missed! A timeless classic romance that you will fall for. It still makes me sigh…. and wipe a tear or two.
